Wherever you are in life there’s a conversation for you

Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference 2026: 5-9 October

As our lives and careers change, what we need to support our wellbeing can change too

You might be finding your voice at work, navigating uncertainty or organisational change, supporting someone through a difficult period, experiencing grief yourself or beginning to think about life beyond work.

From 5–9 October, our Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference will bring together more than 20 free online sessions designed around these different moments.

Delivered in partnership with the Government People Group and headline partner Accenture UK, the conference brings together expert speakers, practitioners and people with lived experience to offer practical ideas, fresh perspectives and honest conversations.

You don’t need to attend everything. Choose the session that feels most relevant to where you are now and join as many as you like.

Find something that speaks to where you are now

If you would like to feel more confident advocating for yourself and others, you may find the  Advocating for Self session useful. It explores practical approaches to speaking up, seeking support and influencing the decisions that affect you.

For colleagues navigating uncertainty, the Thriving Through the Mess sessionwill look at why change can feel so relentless and share practical ways to protect your energy and build resilience.

If you are interested in how your working life can better support your wellbeing, experts from Future Civil Service and Tailored Thinking will explore job crafting and the small changes we can make to tasks, relationships and mindset.

Some sessions create space for conversations that can be harder to have. Ayati Mind will explore how culture, identity, masculinity, grief, trauma, faith and belonging can shape our experiences of mental health.

As they put it:

Mental health support only works when people feel seen, understood and safe enough to use it.

Elsewhere, Julia Samuel MBE will join volunteers from the Civil Service Grief Café for a compassionate session on supporting bereaved children and families, while Carrie and Clarke Carlisle will share their lived experience of adverse mental health from the perspectives of both the person experiencing it and those supporting them.

Their message is simple:

You don’t have to tell everyone, but you must tell someone, and the right someone at the right time.

And for colleagues beginning to look towards retirement, David Tickner from the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship will explore purpose, social connection, finances and wellbeing as work gives way to a new chapter.

Retirement isn’t about what you’re leaving behind — it’s about creating a future you’ll enjoy.

Choose what works for you

The conference is free and online, so you can build it around your week. Join one session that feels particularly relevant or explore several conversations across the five days.

As Your Charity for Life, we’re here as circumstances change and new chapters begin, providing practical, financial and emotional support when it matters.

Different moments. Different needs.
Find the session that suits you.
