Caring for others

A carer is someone who gives unpaid support to a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of an illness, frailty, disability, mental health problem or addiction and cannot cope without their support.

Caring for someone can come with many challenges and rewards. Here’s how to find the care and support you need.

Our digital tool will help you to reflect on and document your responsibilities as a care provider. You’ll get a personalised action plan with advice and signposts to additional resources.

The Carer’s Passport is part of the Civil Service’s workplace adjustments. Our tool prepares you for this. We do not write them.

The Carer’s Statement is for everyone and can be used with organisations outside the workplace.
