Gift Aid makes your donation go further at no extra cost to you. Find out how to sign up.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid means we can support more civil servants when life gets tough.
It’s a Government scheme available to charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs). It means we can claim extra money from HMRC.
When a donation is made with Gift Aid, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated. Gift Aid can increase the value of a donations by 25%.
Are my donations eligible for Gift Aid?
If your donation is your own money (i.e. not a collection of sponsorship donations or proceeds from a raffle or bake sale) and you pay UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax, then your donation is eligible.
Your donations qualify as long as they’re not more than four times what you paid in tax in that tax year (6 April to 5 April).
We can claim Gift Aid on any donations you have made in the past four years.
If there were years when your circumstances changed and you didn’t pay enough tax to qualify, please tell us as soon as possible so we don’t claim for that year. HMRC may ask you to pay more tax to cover the difference.
