Our Community Lottery: Colleagues supporting colleagues, for life

I know colleagues who’ve been helped by the Charity, and I want that support to be there for anyone who might need it in the future — including me!

Stories like this are why civil servants just like you choose to play the Community Lottery.

Some players have been supported directly by the Charity at a difficult moment in their lives. Others have seen colleagues receive help when life becomes overwhelming, whether through illness, anxiety, financial pressure or caring responsibilities – many play because they understand that one day, they or someone they work with might need that same support.

I was helped at my lowest point. Without that support, I wouldn’t have moved out of the situation I was in.

It’s a small, affordable amount, but it makes a real difference.

For 140 years, the Charity for Civil Servants has been Your Charity for Life, providing free, confidential support to current, former and retired civil servants and their families. From emergency grants and money guidance to mental wellbeing tools and help for carers, the Charity is here whenever life gets tricky.

How the community lottery helps

By playing the Community Lottery for just £1 a week, every ticket does two important things:

Lottery helps colleagues through their hardest moments
The lottery - a chance to win up to £25,000

Most importantly, every ticket strengthens our community. It ensures that support remains in reach for those facing their toughest moments today and for those who may need help in the future.

For less than a cup of coffee a week, this simple act of kindness helps protect support that lasts.

When colleagues support colleagues, we make sure the Civil Service always has a place to turn to – now and for whatever comes next.
