Find support when life gets tricky

For generations, we have been here providing an umbrella of free support for life. Today, that promise matters more than ever. Rising living costs, caring responsibilities, relationship pressures, health worries and major life changes can all take a toll. You do not have to manage these challenges on your own.

Here for life’s tricky moments

Life can feel overwhelming at times. You might be:

  • worrying about money or struggling to make ends meet
  • balancing work with caring for a loved one
  • finding it hard to cope with stress, anxiety or low mood
  • dealing with a relationship breakdown or family challenge
  • facing an unexpected life event or change in circumstances

Whatever your situation, we are here to listen, without judgement, and help you explore your options. Our support is free and confidential.

The different ways we can help

You can access support in the way that suits you best. This includes:

Phonecall
Wellbeing Conversations

Confidential one-to-one conversations with a trained member of our team. Together, you can talk through what is going on, explore what might help and agree next steps. Sometimes having a safe space to say things out loud can make a real difference.

Laptop And Mobile
Digital tools, resources and apps

You can access a range of online tools at a time that works for you. This includes self-guided resources to help with mental wellbeing, resilience, sleep, stress and more, as well as information and support around caring, relationships and money.

Money Advice and Guidance

If you are worried about money, you are not alone. Our FCA regulated Money Advice and Guidance service offers full debt advice and casework from accredited advisers, specialising in support for civil servants and their families.

We can help you look at your situation, understand your options and find practical ways forward, including grants where appropriate. This might include budgeting tools, tailored guidance on managing debt and, where needed, signposting you to other trusted organisations for additional help.

Key awareness events

Throughout the year we run and support key events that shine a light on important topics, such as:

  • Time to Talk Day
  • Talk Money Week
  • Carers Week
  • Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Conference

These are chances to learn more, reflect on your own wellbeing and share information with colleagues and teams.

Support for you, your family and your colleagues

Our help is not only for you. We can also support your partner or dependants in certain circumstances, and we provide resources you can share with colleagues and teams. Whether you are an individual looking for help, a manager supporting staff or part of a network or staff group, we can work with you.

If you would like to understand more about what we do, you can also join one of our short online introduction talks. These sessions explain who we are, the support available and how to signpost others.

You do not have to wait until things feel urgent

You do not need to be in crisis to reach out. Many people contact us early, when they first notice that something does not feel quite right, and tell us that getting support sooner helped them feel more in control.

If something is worrying you, or you are supporting someone who is struggling, we are here to help.
