Every 15 minutes, a civil servant reaches out for help to the Charity for Civil Servants.
This Christmas, will you make a donation to help families like Malcolm’s?
When we first spoke to Malcolm, he and his family were living by torchlight – terrified that switching on a light, even for a moment, would cause a fire.
Their home’s faulty electrics needed a complete rewiring. Unable to afford the cost, the family had no choice but to spend the winter in darkness, constantly fearing for their safety.
At a time when hope felt out of reach, your support brought light back into Malcolm’s life.
We’re now safe thanks to the Charity’s support.
I eventually got in touch with the Charity for Civil Servants. I can only say the person I spoke to was the nicest, kindest and most helpful person that I have ever spoken to. They fully understood the predicament we found ourselves in and did everything in their power to help.
When the Charity said they could help cover the costs, it was such a tremendous relief to both myself, my wife and our disabled son… Now that the rewiring is complete, I cannot stress highly enough how relieved we are to finally stop living by torchlight.
Today, your gift could bring hope to fellow civil servants facing difficult times.
Your donation could be the reason that someone feels safe and supported this winter. From funding vital wellbeing conversations for an unpaid carer, to life-saving financial aid that offers a safe place for someone fleeing an abusive relationship – your generosity changes lives.
We know that 1 in 10 civil servants will use our support services at some point in their career. It could be your someone in your team, a colleague who recently retired or the friend you grab lunch with. With your support, no one has to faces their darkest moments alone.
It’s not just a gift – it’s a message that civil servants are never alone.
