We've pedalled with purpose, supporting civil servants

On Friday 22 August, over 200 colleagues came together throughout the day to celebrate the completion of our 60-mile Pedal with Purpose bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh. JP Marks CB, First Permanent Secretary of HMRC and our CEO Jonathan Freeman MBE, swapped boardrooms for their bike saddles, with every mile pedalled raising funds for colleagues in need.

Glasgow To Edinburgh Bike Ride Finish Aug 2025

Record-smashing fundraising total

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity from everyone, the ride has already raised over £5,000 smashing our target of £1,500.

Newton generously doubled every pound donated (up to £1,500) as well as given an additional gift of £1,000, taking our current total to an amazing £5,114. These funds will help us extend the vital support our Charity has provided 74,000 times last year. From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, we help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

Jonathan says

I was proud to ride alongside colleagues from Glasgow to Edinburgh so no civil servant faces life’s challenges alone. Thank you to JP Marks, donors and partners.

Thank you to our champions

Thank you to our riders who trained through the elements, volunteers who supported our riders on the day, and Newton for matching donations pound-for-pound, not forgetting our wider community who spread the word.
