I care for family members who have disabilities and need my help. As a full-time civil servant, the Charity for Civil Servants has been excellent when it comes to supporting me through this. I think their resources are first class, their website is accessible and it’s reassuring to know they’re there if I need them. It’s like a safety net. As an instructor for Mental Health First Aid, I strongly advocate to trainees to use the Charity when signposting other people for support.
Lee's story
As a carer and full time civil servant, Lee explains what the Charity means to him and his family.
The Charity has given carers within the Civil Service a voice of their own. By donating to them, you’re investing in yourself because you already have an innate connection to it. You’re helping yourself and at the same time, making a difference to others.
