The Charity for Civil Servants signposted me to key resources and through Autism and ADHD, paid towards sessions with a coach who specialises in supporting neurodiverse adults. Subsequently, I’ve grown to accept who I am in the workplace and not feel like it’s something I ought to hide. It’s something I can now embrace.
Jonathan's Story
Ambitious fast streamer Jonathan is on the road to success. At the very start of his career, he’s thriving as a civil servant, taking in every second of the new world he now belongs to.
When you talk to Jonathan, his compassion for others shines through. Particularly his determination to raise awareness of neurodiversity within the Civil Service. As a neurodiverse adult, he’s encouraging others to be kind to one another and to be proud of who they are.
Autism and ADHD
Following the COVID pandemic Jonathan was feeling stressed about travelling to and from the office. That’s when he decided to approach his very own Charity to ask for help.
We listened, we understood, and we tailored our range of support to suit Jonathan’s particular needs. This included funding support through Autism and ADHD.
Thriving in the civil service
Jonathan is now equipped with the right tools to face any storm heading his way.
The support from the Charity enabled me to stay at work and develop into a happy, productive civil servant – both directly and indirectly. It’s helped me push myself to achieve my potential as a fast streamer.
Jonathan is now spending his free time raising awareness of neurodiversity in the workplace and we’re proud to call him part of our community.
Being autistic, I have a range of intense special interests which keep me engaged at work and I love that I can take pen to paper to brainstorm a solution. I’ve been supported to thrive in my way of working and it’s allowed me to be my best…
…The Charity serves as both a sounding board and community for all civil servants and it continues to be my foundation as I strive to reach my full potential.
